We Moved!

So many people have been asking me why I haven’t been posting here lately. Actually, no one asked, but I’m sure they would have. It is winter in Sedona and there wasn’t a lot of flower related content. Oh and also we moved! I would be crazy to say that Sedona was not one of the most incredible places to live in the whole world. We were so lucky to live in the beauty of red rock country, especially during the worst part of the pandemic. We could hike, explore nature, and not feel like our lives…

I Thought It Was a Room With More Baby Bears!

Copper Art Museum Over the last weekend we had a great time getting away from the fire smoke and cooling off. It has been really hot and rough in Northern Arizona due to the Raphael and Backbone fires. Thankfully they are contained now and a lot of the danger for people and their homes is behind us. When things get that smokey we looked for somewhere to go that was interesting and indoors. We ended up checking out the Copper Art Museum in Clarkdale, Arizona. It was a great way to check out an interesting place while not breathing in…

Guide to Southern Utah

Last October we took a vacation to Utah to check out some of the state parks and enjoy a week in nature and away from the screens. We did not go to Zion. I know everyone and their brother is all about Zion right now which is why we steered clear of that zoo and looked for places more off the beaten path. While we were there we spent time at Bryce Canyon National Park, Kodachrome Basin State Park, Escalante, and Capital Reef State Park. Bryce Canyon National Park Our first stop was Bryce Canyon National Park. I know that…

Chasing Waterfalls at Mormon Crossing

Secret waterfalls in Arizona? It’s true! One of the best parts of Northern Arizona is the water. The Verde River is a staple around the Verde Valley, but even better than the Verde is Oak Creek. Oak Creek Canyon is a gorgeous canyon north of Sedona. That same creek winds it’s way through the verde valley. Southwest of Sedona near Corneille (I laugh ever time I hear the town name too!) there is a river access point called Mormon Crossing. It is a fun little place and you can swim in the creek right off the parking lot…

Bandelier National Monument

And the New Mexico posts just keep on coming! One of the most interesting places we visited while on this recent trip to New Mexico was Bandelier National Monument. If you are anything like me you are probably wondering who this Bandelier is and why they have a National Monument named after them. And if you aren’t like me then good! Turns out you really have to hunt to find out who this guy was and why a national monument was named after him. Bandelier was a scholar born in Switzerland in the mid 1800s. In his 40s he…
